I have amazing friends.

Emmy and Kathleen are two of my oldest friends. I've known Emmy since the ripe old age of 6 (we were in the same first grade class) and Kathleen since birth (yes, we have baby pictures together).

some kentucky loves: emmy, emily, ginny quinn, me,
kathleen
In addition to being good friends, they are also both extremely talented. Kathleen, a senior at the University of Louisville, works part-time with Autistic children and children with special needs, providing both company and therapy. Not only is she great with kids, but her interpersonal skills as a whole are absolutely amazing.  Emmy, a student at Western Kentucky University, is an incredible, incredible photographer (you can see some of her work here and here-- I'm particularly fond of her photos taken in Paris and her "Growing up Kentucky" series.)

Recently, they combined their talents in a pseudo-documentary/multimedia piece, Her Own World

It's wonderful, and if you have a spare 2 minutes and 40 seconds, you should definitely watch it.

still from her own world, from emmy's blog

In other news: 45 hours after leaving Saint-Sulpice, Ben has arrived in Australia! Hopefully he can manage to sleep a bit now....!
