Bienvenue a Saint-Sulpice!

To be honest, I’ve been wanting to blog about my new home since last Wednesday. The incredible view of the lake, the abundance of flowers, and the charming town of Saint-Sulpice —I was instantly enamored with it all and wanted to share them, too.

The only problem? The weather wasn’t really cooperating.  As I looked out of the window over my desk, the misty, foggy lake still looked beautiful to me—but on my camera, it simply looked dull and flat. Grey skies, washed-out backgrounds, and poor lighting were not even beginning to do justice to the gorgeous little town of Saint-Sulpice, just outside of Lausanne.

Yesterday, however, the sunshine finally returned, allowing me to put my scarves and coat away for a while, go outside, and take some pictures.

my new home: the suburb of saint sulpice!
love the lake-side geraniums.
lake side park, about 50 yards from my new apartment!
sailboat-dotted lake and snow capped mountains in the
distance. have I mentioned how much I'm in love
with this place?

switzerland is closest.
I loved this whimsical doorknob!  so appropriate for
living on the water!
there's an adorable playground right on the lake, fairly close
to where we live. naturally, ben and I had to stop and
play on the waterfront seesaw!
