Last weekend, Ben, Amy, Mikeal, and myself took a mini-vacation to Lisbon, Portugal. Although we managed to cram in a
lot of sight-seeing (and a
half marathon) into three short days, one of my favorite places we visited was Capa de Roca.
Capa de Roca is famous for being the westernmost point in continental Europe. Cool geography facts aside, I was absolutely blown away by the majestic cliffs, crashing waves, and brilliant green hills sprinkled with delicate yellow flowers. Needless to say, it was gorgeous

apparently, the plant with the little yellow flowers- aizoacea- is native
to south africa. it's now considered a highly invasive species and has
overcome much of the local flora. nevertheless, I still thought it was
pretty beautiful. |

gorgeous cliffs in the late afternoon sun. |

unfortunately, we only stopped at capa de roca for
half an hour or so. I could have easily walked along the
coastline for miles and miles. |

portugal marks most of its famous monuments or places with a cross. |

I loved the juxtaposition between
rugged cliffs and delicate flowers. |

such a wonderful, wonderful trip! |
