Running Recap: Lake and Light

I love being busy.  I thrive on back-to-back-to-back plans, and seeing heaps of colorful little boxes cluttering my Google Calendar never fails to make me happy.
happy google calendar- lots and lots of things to do!
Needless to say, the past week has been happily busy. I’ve sat in on several classes, trying to decide what I want to take this semester. I’ve read more papers than I can count, trying to make sense of the jargon floating around my lab. I’ve even started up a couple of my own experiments! It’s been hectic, and I like that.

Unfortunately, being busy does not always translate to a consistent running schedule. By the time I leave lab (usually around 6-7 pm), make dinner, and eat a bite, the sun is already setting and it’s too dark and cold to run. I know, I know- the obvious answer is to become a morning runner, but I just can’t seem to make the switch.

Although my busy schedule (and my inability to wake up early) prevented me from running during the week, last weekend was full of incredible evening runs. Between 3 miles last Friday, 3 miles last Saturday, 6 miles on Sunday, and 3 again on Monday, I’ve become absolutely enamored with the reflection of color and light on Lac Leman.

Here are some more highlights:

it's about a mile downhill from my current apartment
to the lake.
lac leman at twilight.
although lac leman is only a short jog away from downtown
lausanne, the area I run through, ouchy, is actually
a separate commune (or town).

on longer runs (> 4 miles), I run into the commune adjacent
to ouchy, pully.
